What is a good first Xbox 360 game to get?

Well today, I will be getting an Xbox 360 as an early Christmas gift. I will not be getting Xbox live yet, but I will be getting it eventually. I am 15 years old but my parents will let me get M games. I love baseball and football, and I have never owned a shooting game or really any really good first person game. So I need a game that I can play for about 2 months and have fun with without needing Xbox live for it that I will enjoy. Please give suggestions, all suggestions help greatly. Thanks!

What are some good Xbox 360 games coming out soon?

I know COD 5 is coming out soon can anyone tell me anymore good Xbox 360 games and can you tell me when they are going to come out. Also, can anyone tell me or give me a review on Gears of War is it like Halo 3?

This week, space-hungry users of the Xbox 360 gaming console are finally getting a little relief: Once you download the latest update to the 360 software, you’ll be able to plug a USB thumbdrive into your device to instantly expand its storage capability.

Users are already quietly rejoicing: Formerly, the only way to add storage capacity to the 360 was to update the hard drive with a Microsoft-approved upgrade — an extremely expensive proposition. (The official 250GB hard drive, the largest option currently available, costs $130; meanwhile, standard terabyte hard drives cost well under $100 now.)

It’s not perfect. Be advised that the 360’s USB storage-upgrade enhancement comes with a long list of quirky caveats. Microsoft’s official Web page on the subject offers more details and some explanations for the new policies, and a few warnings about how the 360 gobbles up space on whatever drive you use for overhead.

USB flash drives can be used to store gamer profiles, saved games, and downloaded content, but the big sell is that you can now easily take your characters and saves with you when you play at a friend’s house (thus earning Achievements when you’re hanging on someone else’s couch).

The console upgrade isn’t perfect, but at least it’s something. Any tech nerd has stacks and stacks of old USB drives lying around, and this is at least one way to put them to some use. But more compelling is how it frees us from the burden of having to remove the hard drive (much more susceptible to damage than a flash drive) or even dragging the whole console out of the house just to play the content on it. And, hey, at least the update is free.

Defective Xbox 360 Game Cases?

Ok,so I have been having a bit of a problem with my Xbox 360 games breaking I have had 4 of them break so far these four games would be
Left 4 Dead,Halo 3, and Gears of War 2.

1 by 1 they all fell and I looked up broken Xbox 360 games on Google and a forum topic came up talking about the Xbox 360 Game Cases being defective,I thought it was that because if it was my Xbox 360 all my games would have broke by now and I had GTA IV for a year and Halo 3 for 3 months and Halo 3 broke first and I still have GTA IV to this day.

I have been wondering is it my Xbox 360 doing this because at the time my games started breaking I used to play my Xbox 360 in a Vertical position now its horizontal and ever since I bought a CD Holder for my games which was 4-5 months ago not one has broke yet after Gears of War 2 broke.

So is it my Xbox 360 in the vertical position causing it or could it be the cases for the games?

If you have just damaged your favourite Xbox 360 game disc beyond repair then you will know how expensive the mistake was. I actually had one of my discs damaged just by putting it into my Xbox 360 – now that’s something I just couldn’t avoid. So what can you do if you have just trashed that $50 disc?

Well, ideally you would just use a backup of your favourite game, but, of course, the copy protection systems on all Xbox 360 games won’t let you make a back up. You could just buy another copy, but who has the money to do that these days. The last way is to modify your Xbox 360 with a piece of hardware called a modchip. These small chips are installed into the console – yes you have to open the case and void your warranty – but they are difficult to install, they can be expensive and you will probably be banned from services like Xbox Live if you use one. Of course if your console breaks down, don’t bother sending it back under warranty as it won’t be covered.

However, despite what I said earlier, there is actually another option – you could use a dedicated piece of disc copying software to make an exact image of your original disc and just back this image up to blank DVD media. Recently, there have been a number of software packages developed that enable you to do just this, and best of all they are very simple to use. Here’s what you do

• Download and install the software onto your PC
• Insert your original Xbox 360 game disc into the DVD Drive
• Copy The files from your XBox 360 game disc to your Hard drive
• Remove the original disc and insert a blank DVD disc (or blu-ray if its a PS3/Blu-ray movie)
• Follow the simple instructions on the game copy software to burn a new copy to your blank media

And you are done!

The whole process only takes few minutes and its completely foolproof. It actually takes a lot less time to do this than to head off to the mall and get yourself another copy of the game – and its far cheaper too.

So, next time you buy an expensive Xbox 360 game (or PS3, Wii or DVD Movie) disc, then just get a good disc backup software program and make a backup copy. You’ll be sorry you didn’t.

How To Burn 360 Games To Reduce Risk

With the introduction of the latest generation of gaming systems, serious gaming enthusiasts have become quite animated in their quest for learning how to burn Xbox 360 games. There were a number of successful emulators of the earlier generations of games. It seems only natural that finding ways to burn the new generation of game disks would be a natural evolution.

Xbox systems were exposed, by owners, to a great deal of physical modification to enable playing copies of games. The competition among hackers became almost riotous to see who could best figure out how to burn Xbox 360 games by overcoming the built in protections of both the gaming systems and the games themselves. There really is no shortcut to copying XBOX games. In fact, this is a mightily complicated process and has stumped some really techie people. This is evident with the prevalence of the question on copying XBOX games in Internet message boards and tech chat rooms. But why does one need to be going about there and copying XBOX games? Is this not legal?

If you have an XBOX and you have purchased original games to play on it, chances are you must have ran through a huge chunk of your savings. Original games are very expensive and because CDs are not exactly immortal, you can eventually wear out a game especially if you use it every minute of the day.

To give value to consumers, most countries allow original CD buyers to make back-up copies of their XBOX games in case their original got damaged or got lost provided that they are aware of the law against pirated software and that they actually own an original cd and are only copying XBOX games for their personal use only.

While it is relatively easy to do the copying of XBOX games, the same cannot be said in actually using the XBOX games that you have copied. Most software contain an encryption that must be met when inserted in an XBOX. Copying an XBOX game, however, does not copy this encryption. This is a protection system that most XBOX consoles have as protection against flagrant copying of XBOX games.

To be able to run XBOX games that you have copied, you need to modify your XBOX. This can be a daunting task especially to beginners who are afraid of destroying their XBOXes with their tinkering.

According to most tech experts, there are a lot of ways to modifying your XBOX in order to accommodate the practice of copying of XBOX games. Some are quite complicated and only a tech expert could do while other ways can be expensive but easy.

One is to buy and install a MOD-chip. This will allow your console to play XBOX games that you have copied as well as play imported games from other countries with perfect sound and video with no problem at all. While it may seem that all you have to do is purchase a MOD-Chip and then voila, you have another think coming. There are actually a lot of things that you should consider when buying a MOD-Chip. Most recommend the Divineo Modchips, which are purported to be really reliable. Some of the popular brands are the Xecuter 2 and 3, Xenium, SmartXX, X-bit, Alladin, Chameleon and Xchip.

Another way in copying and using XBOX games is to change the BIOS of the XBOX so that it will no longer read the requirements of the digitally-signed software. This is basically reprogramming the whole BIOS.

You might also consider purchasing a bigger hard drive and just save all your games inside the XBOX. This way, you already have copy of your favorite games inside and would no longer need to swap CDs.

The third way is to do the game swapping technique, wherein you will first boot the original CD and then swap the copy once it has already booted up. This might be very complicated and will not actually serve your purpose in copying your XBOX games… that is to preserve your original CDs.

Xbox 360 Overheating – How To Avoid It

The Microsoft Xbox 360 console is a great gaming gadget, so the fact that there were millions of them sold all over the world is not a surprise.

Still, these consoles came with their own set of issues. One of these issues was the so called red ring of death, which got its name from the 360 gaming community. This issue got its name from the green lights of the console becoming red, which would indicate a failure of the hardware.

There were thousands of gaming consoles that had this problem and in most cases the console had a problem dissipating the heat that built up, because of the processing units. The thought here is that the design of the console is to blame, since it is so basic, and the heat sinks are too small. This would mean that they can’t cope with the amount of heat that is being produced while you play. Anyway, you should know that this problem is well known and it has a number of possible solutions.

One of the things you should do is not to use an Xbox 360 in a small place, like in a TV unit or in a cupboard. You need plenty of fresh air around the console, and ideally it should also be cool air. The best position for it would be in the room’s centre, on a box that is upturned. This would let the cool air get to the console’s cooling vents. That’s why you shouldn’t put the console on a carpeted floor.

While this tip might seem a bit crazy, it will actually allow you to play on it without any errors caused by overheating. The tip would be to play in sessions of a few hours, with breaks if it takes longer than that. This will allow you to play on your Xbox without any overheating issues.

If you happen to be one of the gamers unlucky enough to own a console that suffers from errors of red lights, you shouldn’t stress. These are plenty of resources that help you find a solution to this problem, so it doesn’t mean that you paid for the console and got nothing in return.

You can find a number of resources that give self help tips, so you will be able to fix overheated consoles with ease. Since there are so many consoles that had problems with overheating, the procedures of repair are proven to work. All you need is to try one of them and see if it applies to your situation.
